Plan B @ Bangsar Village I

Kinda looked like everyone flocked their way to Plan B on a public holiday. Bumped into a few people and you can tell by everyone's faces.. they just seem to agree that this is the place to be.  I have to agree to that partly because although it was busy and buzzing with everyone's conversations, it still felt home-y. Only thing that needs a little adjustment are their lights. Spotting on tables are a good idea but the furniture shifts as the crowd fills in. So you're spotting...customers? Gets pretty hot..

The place was swarming with crowd a little over lpm. There was a waiting list and we were waiting for about 15 minutes or so. On tables, you can see people still making orders for breakfast. Their servings are seemingly huge in portion for me, but I was only craving for their chargrilled cheeseburger that day... *slurp*
extensive use of raw materials in interior
kitchen preparing all the great food
I have to be honest that I've had bad food here before, which is the duck confit burger. It was dry, hard and tasteless.. I thought I could sink my teeth in their awesome cheeseburger.. but it was only 1.30PM and they were already sold out!!

The very small parts that reminded me so much about living in Melbourne.

I didn't get to try their coffee in my last visit cos I didn't feel like having one. This time around, since they hard sell their coffee to be like Prahran's Market Lane coffee in Melbourne, I made sure I'll have one.
and the coffee was.....
disappointing.. seriously.. it was not even close. I can get better coffee elsewhere in PJ and KL. :S

even the ice chocolate....
well, the presentation has set me off already because the ice cream was practically half melted. hmm..

steak burger..
I was still in the burger mood, though a little upset that I can't have my cheeseburger. I took the 'risk' to try their steak burger. I had mine in medium-rare and the portion is a little too much for me. But this was not too bad, served with caramelized onions which was totally yums.. Looking at it now makes me hungry~ The side served salad had the weirdest dressing ever. I can't tell what it is, but I totally dislike it..

chicken burger.. stephen's comment : BIASA [common]
eggs benedict
simple breakfast for the light eaters like miss wong *cough* and this was surprisingly good.

very tasty beef bolognese
too oily fries
ok, fries are deep fried, but.. when i termed it 'too oily', its only cos i can feel that the fries are soaked up in oil and when u munch on them, u can taste the oil.. it's not like maccas soggy fries.. this is like crunchy fries soaked in oil... maybe it's just me. i like the dipping sauce though. :)

So overall, I do like this place, mainly attracted by its interior, then only the food. this is what I have to say...

" ABOUT US : This modern coffee shop prides itself in its selection of specialist coffees from the renowned Market Lane Coffees of Melbourne, Australia. Coffee beans are selected seasonally from the best growers around the world and roasted in small batches to retain freshness and quality. "

xc: i'm surprised i was disappointed

"Plan B 's modern Aussie-meets-New York-deli menu boasts hearty breakfasts, contemporary salads, wholesome sandwiches made with freshly baked breads; pastas, and a variety of rustic cakes and desserts. "

xc : The desserts were overrated as most of them were only ok, but I do love the choc torte.. I will be back for breakfast!

"The cafe offers an edgy alternative to cookie cutter coffee bars. Its interior employs an industrial flair with raw wood and exposed brick finishing; livened up with eclectic furniture and whimsical art pieces. With this androgynous, rugged personality, Plan B entices people to hangout, eat! linger and be inspired. "

xc : love your interior, but then again, the spotlights spotting on us due to shifting furniture when your crowd comes in, were the reason why we didn't sit in any longer
